first_imgThe Department of Epidemiology ( at the University of Florida seeks qualified applicants for afull-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month tenure or non-tenure track facultymember at the Associate or Full Professor level. This is anexciting opportunity to join a growing department that hasexpertise in cutting edge areas including substance abuse and HIV,genetic epidemiology, cancer epidemiology, psychiatricepidemiology, data science, and infectious and chronic diseaseepidemiology.The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence inteaching, mentoring, and research conducted in a dynamic academichealth center environment. The successful candidate will beexpected to contribute both collaboratively and independently toexternally funded research. Tenure track faculty will be principalinvestigators of extramurally funded research projects. Non-tenuretrack faculty will typically be focused on collaborative researchas co-investigators. In addition, the successful candidate will beexpected to teach courses that support the epidemiology and publichealth programs and will also contribute to service through studentmentorship and committee service.The Department of Epidemiology is strategically situated within theCollege of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and theCollege of Medicine. Faculty members are jointly appointed tocreate synergies and collective strength, resulting in acompetitive research profile and highly trained students whoreceive exceptional exposure to diverse expertise. Our faculty andstudents have received numerous national awards in research andmentoring and are committed to excellence in training. Thedepartment offers an epidemiology PhD, Master of Science, andconcentration in the MPH program. It is also home to two NationalInstitutes of Health Training grants. Faculty members are stronglysupported by our college level instructional design team for coursedevelopment and delivery and by our research core for grantdevelopment and submission.The University of Florida ( ) is a comprehensiveresearch-extensive university that includes a full range ofacademic departments and programs. The UF Health Science Center ( )is comprised of six health-related colleges located on a single,contiguous campus.
