Miss Chilufya is one of many volunteers who have responded to international development charity VSO’s recent calls for fundraising professionals to take up placements overseas.“Although I was born in Zambia I’ve spent all my adult life in the UK,” said Miss Chilufya. “I’ve always wanted to go back and work there professionally. I hope to learn a great deal from working overseas with very limited resources, experience which should help me to develop my career when I return to the UK.”VSO is still keen to recruit fundraisers for placements such as a children’s disability charity in Ethiopia, the Kenyan Union for the Blind, or a women’s rights organisation in South Africa. The charity also has a number of short-term fundraising assignments for senior fundraisers.www.vso.org.uklast_img read more
