Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu’s outrageous dummy for Gloucester

first_imgTuesday Mar 15, 2011 Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu’s outrageous dummy for Gloucester Gloucester cruised into the final of the LV Cup with a convincing 45-17 win over Newport-Gwent Dragons at Kingsholm on Sunday. One of the more memorable moments of the game was this comical dummy by centre Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu. ADVERTISEMENTCharlie Sharples scored four second half tries as Gloucester set up a meeting with Newcastle Falcons, who beat Harlequins 22-21. They will face each other in the final next weekend, in Northampton.Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu scored a try in the first half, to add to those by Sharples, Andy Hazell, and Nicky Robinson. It was the amusing piece of skill by the Samoan centre though that had my inbox and requests page working overtime. The outrageous, one-handed dummy looked completely unnecessary, and maybe it was, but it did open up a gap that actually led to a penalty and further points for the cherry and whites. The game was also in the bag by then, so you cant blame him for not being too concerned about the possibility of the ball slipping out of his hand, and into row 5 of the Shed.
