Notre Dame had been scheduled to host the first of the 2020 presidential debates on September 29.Jenkins said he made the difficult decision after consulting with Dr. Mark Fox, the St. Joseph County Deputy Health Officer, and with the unanimous support of the Executive Committee of the school’s Board of Trustees.Notre Dame has hosted six presidents at commencement ceremonies through the years, but this would have been the University’s first presidential debate.
