David Bell was named the new Reds Manager. How do you think he will do? On the plus side, he is a native of Cincinnati. He graduated from Moeller High School in 1990, and he is the grandson of Gus Bell who played for the Reds and is now in their front office. He also has worked in the Reds organization at different times. On the negative side, he was not successful as a Reds minor league manager. He has no major league managing experience. When the Reds have gone within their organization for managers in the past, they have not been successful.I would have preferred they keep Jim Riggleman, but he lost his chance when the Reds finished so poorly this year. I would have liked Joe Girardi, but I am sure after going to college in Chicago and managing in New York, Cincinnati would not have been a good fit for him.
