first_imgThe following incidents were reported in the USC Dept. of Public Safety Daily Incident Log between Monday, June 3, and Tuesday, June 4. Crimes against propertyat 11:58 p.m. on June 3, DPS officers responded to a report of a suspect prowling in the bike racks at University Gateway Apartments and detained him for investigation. The officers found the suspect in possession of burglary tools and surveillance camera footage provided by a security guard showed him in the racks where a cut bike lock was found. The suspect was then arrested and transported to 77th Street Station for booking.At 9:11 p.m. on June 3, DPS officers responded to a report of an unknown subject having tipped over a University electric cart possibly while joyriding inside Parking Structure D. The officers were able to push the cart back onto its wheels and they observed no damage. The cart was then parked in a stall until its parking spot could be determined.Miscellaneous incidentsat 12:58 a.m. on June 4, DPS officers responded to a report of a non-USC male behaving suspiciously near Adams Boulevard and Severance Street and when they contacted him, they observed that he was bleeding from lacerations to his head. The male said he had been drinking and the cuts were sustained when he fell. A Los Angeles Fire Department Rapid Assistance was called. The RA Unit treated the male and transported him to California Hospital.last_img read more

Nigeria is ranked 21st in the world.Host nation Paraguay will tackle Japan in the tournament opening game on Thursday. Anel Hadžić got BiH citizenship

first_imgAt today’s session of BiH Council of Ministers, one of the items on the agenda was the citizenship of football player Anel Hadžić.BiH Council of Ministers decided to give Hadžić citizenship and now there are no obstacles for him playing for BiH football team, said general secretary of BiH Football Federation Jasmin Baković.Hadžić was born in 1989 in Velika Kladuša and from 2007 he’s been playing for Ried.Hadžić said that he’s happy that he became the citizen of BiH, since he always wanted to play for BiH, and now he only awaits Sušić’s call.Hadžić added that even if Sušić does not call him, he will not play for any other team except for BiH.last_img read more

first_imgEve BelleDonegal’s public and music lovers have been asked to vote for rising songwriter Eve Belle as she is one of ten final contestants of the Le Crunch Apple of My Eye Song Contest. The online competition has been running for several weeks with hundreds of entries from around the country, before it was whittled down to the final ten, with Eve as Donegal’s sole representative at the finals stage.No stranger to the music scene, Eve has played a number of festivals over the years including, Electric Picnic, Errigal Arts Festival and Derry Music City Festival. She has supported the likes of Altan, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Mick Flannery. Last year saw her sign to UK independent label Lab records.f Along with nine other semi-finalists from around Ireland, Eve will record a video for her track with Joe.ie and the public will be asked to vote for her on the website, with five of the entries going through to a national final at Whelan’s in Dublin on Wednesday, March 9.There, a panel of music industry judges – Niamh Farrell (HamsandwicH), Paddy McKenna (RTE and Joe.ie) and Shane Dunne (Indiependence Festival Director) – will choose the winner who will walk away with €2000.“It’s a great opportunity for budding Irish artists to have their talents showcased to a huge audience,” says Paddy McKenna, “and also have their song checked out by some influential people from the Irish music industry.
