Premier Darrell Dexter today, June 29, thanked Digby-Annapolis MLA Harold “Junior” Theriault for his years of service to the province and his constituents, and wished him all the best in the future. Mr. Theriault announced today he will not run in the next provincial election. “I have known Junior for many years,” said Premier Dexter. “He has a great sense of humour and has always worked hard to represent the people of Digby-Annapolis. I know how demanding public service can be, and Junior always took the role seriously. “I understand his desire to make more time for himself and his family, and I wish him all the best.” Mr. Theriault was first elected in 2003 and re-elected in 2006 and again in 2009. He also serves on the Veterans Affairs committee.
